Strawberry Shortcakes

My husband's favorite dessert. 

We like to use other fruits like fresh and home bottled peaches, raspberries and black berries.
This recipe can be found on the Bisquick box.

1 pound of strawberries, washed and leaves removed

Slice or mash strawberries, add sugar to taste.

1/2 cup milk
3 tablespoons butter or margarine
3 tablespoons sugar
2 1/3 cups Bisquick mix

Heat oven to 425.  Measure milk in a micro wave safe liquid measuring cup.  Place butter in milk.  Microwave milk and butter to melt butter.  In a small mixing bowl stir milk, butter, sugar and Bisquick just till mixed.  Drop large spoonfuls onto greased baking sheet, makes 6.  Bake for 10 -12 minutes, till golden.  Split warm shortcakes with serrated knife.  Top bottom half with whipped cream then strawberries.  Place top half on, top with whipped cream and strawberries.  Enjoy!
